FROM DOODLES TO DESIGN: MY CREATIVE JOURNEY

Where It All Began

Since I was a kid, drawing has always been my happy place.

I’d spend hours sketching paper dolls and covering every scrap of paper I could find with floral doodles. It was pure joy and creativity in its rawest form.

Building a Career with Heart

I grew up in a small town in rural Saskatchewan, moving around the Canadian prairies, eventually earning a diploma in Digital Art and Design.

These days, I call Calgary, Alberta, home.

After five years working at a communications company, I took a leap of faith, launched my own design studio, and spent the past 15 years crafting visual stories for local nonprofits—all while raising a family.

The Magic of Illustration & Pattern

More recently, I’ve reconnected with my first love: illustration.

Diving headfirst into surface pattern design has been nothing short of magical. Designing seamless patterns that combine creativity and strong design principles feels like the perfect fusion of artistry and craftsmanship.

It fuels my soul and satisfies my deep love for well-made, meaningful work.

In my studio, you’ll find me in my element—surrounded by colored pencils, gouache paints, and my trusty iPad and laptop. The walls are a patchwork of inspiring fabrics, textures, and the ever-evolving pieces of my art practice.

It’s my creative haven, where ideas bloom and patterns come to life.

I believe that the most impactful designs are born from meaningful partnerships, which is why I work closely with nonprofit organizations and small businesses that prioritize making a difference.

My goal is to create visually compelling solutions that amplify their missions, foster connection, and reflect their dedication to building a better, more sustainable world.

Together, we can bring creativity to life and inspire change in the communities we serve.
